•  Microbial diversity and function of anaerobic bacteria (iron- and sulfate-reducing bacteria) in mining environments

•  Role of iron- and sulfate-reducing bacteria in the methylation of Hg in mining and permanently cold environments

•  Characterization of biogenic iron oxides as potential sorbents of radionuclides

•  Effect of nutrients on bacterial adhesion to minerals
